Title: Application Development Manager

Location: ALTA is supporting a direct hire opportunity working hybrid onsite/remote for a client located in the Cincinnati, OH area

Summary:As an Application Development Manager/Lead on our Information Systems team, you will be involved in managing developers and also involved in designing applications for internal employees and external customers to use. These applications will allow for better quality information input, faster reporting, and a user-friendly experience while interacting with the applications. You will be involved in formulating ideas for application design and development, and overseeing feature and application releases. You will have the opportunity to coach existing skilled Application Developers and bring in new talent to strengthen your team.

We are looking for an individual who has experience managing software development people, coaching them and setting standards which the development team must follow in order to develop bug-free code. They need measurable results to be established and then actionable coaching where they are not hitting standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement development methodology. Monitor all contractors, co-ops and Associates for conformance to application design and methodology.
  • Recruit, select, manage, motivate, evaluate and review the performance of their direct Associates and contractors performing application development.
  • Prioritize development requests and ensure the team accomplishes development and testing tasks defined.
  • Prioritize the schedule and timing of long term application development.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing for the Development team, QA team, and End Users.
  • Identify development tools and utilities to be used during development efforts.
  • Establish a scalable technology stack and perform continuous evaluations of new technologies.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience
  • BS in Computer Science
  • Experience with React, JavaScript, SQL, Node, Express, PHP, C#, Typescript
  • Strive to learn new technologies and languages to better support our internal employees and external customers.
  • Continually grow and improve upon your processes and skillset, and develop those around you to do so as well.
  • Communicate openly regarding task statuses and estimates.
  • Seek to continually enhance communication between team members.
  • Solve problems and creatively improve processes within our internal and external users.
  • Have the skills to lead and motivate a Team through the design process ensuring creative and high-quality design solutions.
