Description We are looking for a diligent Buyer to join our team in the Machinery Manufacturing industry, located in BOWLING GREEN, Kentucky. As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in selecting and purchasing quality products, negotiating with suppliers, and analyzing data to meet the needs of our business.Responsibilities: Research, select, and purchase quality products and materials for our business Develop strategic partnerships with domestic and global suppliers, moving beyond transactional relationships Engage suppliers in planning key initiatives and jointly developing new products to support rapid market entry Evaluate supplier capabilities and align them with our business needs Review aspects such as supplier price, quality, delivery, financial stability, capacity, flexibility, and lead times to ensure fit for product and volumes Provide support for supplier development as needed Negotiate win-win situations with suppliers to establish long-term partnerships Communicate effectively with suppliers to review delivery and PPM details Collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch new products and provide necessary support in Purchasing, Materials, Engineering, Quality, and Operations Develop a strategy and supply base for each commodity Identify cost reduction opportunities and manage related projects. Requirements Applicant must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Machinery Manufacturing industry. Proficiency in Global Supply Chain and Supply Chain Management is required. Must have a strong understanding of procurement policies and procedures. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong professional relationships with suppliers are essential. Strong financial acumen, including the ability to analyze supplier proposals for total cost of ownership. Proven track record in managing supplier performance and conducting supplier audits. Ability to work cross-functionally and coordinate with various departments such as Quality, Engineering, and Finance. Proficiency in using procurement software and other related computer applications. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred. Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.
