Job Description

This position has operational and analytical responsibilities within Expeditors District Accounting team including cash management, bank account management, foreign exchange, payment strategies, policy, and process development along with associated compliance. The Accounting Specialistwill be a part of the District Accounting team and will support Expeditors Louisville District and the North Central Region on some projects. Other responsibilities include day to day processing, reconciling, analyzing and reporting on accounting related transactions in support of Expeditors.

Essential DutiesandResponsibilities

  • Supportstheoperational and analytical needs of Accounting including cash management, debt, foreign exchange, payment strategies, process and program development along withtheassociateddepartmentaland organizational compliance.
  • Responsible for driving and supporting day-to-day accounting operations activity which includesprocessing, reconciling, analyzing and reporting on accounting relatedactivity.
  • Manage bank account, authorized signer and purchase card processes,act asaccountingliaison with internal departmentsand assist with managingbank relationships and associated reviews.
  • Builds, develops, supportsand maintainsaccounting processes, policies and procedureswith a key focus on internal controls.
  • Identifiesand recommendsstrategic, tactical and operational improvements with a strong focus on business and operational workflow reengineering.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Excelfor cash position, cash forecast and operational supportparticularly in the areas of foreign currency and letter of credit.
  • Support the Accounting team onad hoc projectsand participate in the monthly close process.

Required

  • Relevant bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting
  • Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity and fulfillment of commitments
  • Previous operations experience in anAccountingor financedepartment orfinancial Institution preferred
