In a time of unprecedented expansion, we are searching for a Health, Safety and Security Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Corporate Senior Safety Manager, the position will ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations relating to health, safety and physical security. The Health, Safety and Security Manager will work across departments to provide leadership and technical expertise to various work groups, including safety committees and accident review teams. The position also will conduct on-the-job training in safety awareness and compliance, as well as respond to health and safety inquiries. The ideal candidate will identify, evaluate and prevent health and safety hazards; thus, we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills who has obtained at least 30 hours of OSHA-authorized training on workplace safety. And we’re here to help you succeed—in 2022 Lakeshore earned its Great Place to Work® Certification™ and is proud to put its associates first.This full-time position is on-site at our Midway, Kentucky, location.A day in the office looks like this: Working closely with Human Resources, Legal, Operations and Corporate Safety teams to manage, deploy and monitor all Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) programs, procedures, policies and standardsConducting post-accident investigations and online case managementAdvancing initiatives that promote and sustain the safety, health, security and welfare of all personnelConducting on-the-job training for safety awareness and compliance, including new employee safety orientation, hazardous communication, LOTO, AWP, PIT, MEWP and all ANSI- and OSHA-applicable trainings, Emergency Action Response and Evacuation plans, fire extinguisher use and other applicable programsPerforming and supervising accident prevention programs, accident reporting programs, post-accident investigations, near-miss assessments, root cause analysis and Standard Operating Practice implementationCreating and distributing all OSHA-required daily, monthly and quarterly safety bulletins, charts and displays in relation to accident prevention, emergency reporting, first aid, injuries, etc.Monitoring operational matters regarding safety programs, including occupational safety and health, emergency preparedness, etc.Reviewing industry publications and monitoring pending legislation and regulations to determine the impact of new developments on Lakeshore’s safety and health compliance programsWorking with departments to set and reach safety goals by leading monthly departmental safety committee meetings and providing additional health and safety resources as requested by departmentsAuditing site activities and advising on actions necessary to comply with OSHA, regulatory agencies and company guidelinesSupervising security team and managing security and fire system complianceEnsuring all loss prevention standards are maintained relating to campus security, employee safeguards and cargo securityMaintaining and utilizing all Secure Integration systems: cameras, access, yard management, burglary and fire alarms systems and software
