Monitors performance for trends or other indicators of improving or degrading incident performance, and develops and implements strategic solutions that will improve performance results.Acts as a resource to staff and internal customers as the HSE Subject Matter Expert. Provides direct and timely advice and information to management in all matters related to performance, compliance, trends, and concerns.Implements initiatives and communicates priorities in a manner that effectively drives program consistency and effectiveness.Oversees the specific HSE plans, playbooks, and procedures to make certain they are current, complete, and effective.Monitors regulatory compliance. Communicates all findings, concerns, and deficiencies to the responsible managers to effect timely and necessary corrections. Builds and implements solutions that support efforts to improve and maintain compliance.Identifies opportunities to reduce costs while enhancing quality of services.Responds to client concerns regarding HSE matters. Supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Client Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and client policies and procedures.Other duties may be assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESProvides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual will perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum of 8 years of related experience.Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations is needed. Direct experience working with regulatory agencies and / or compliance officers is required.CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSESAs required by local authority. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) - PreferredCOMMUNICATION SKILLSAbility to comprehend, analyze, and interpret business documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGERequires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve advanced problems and assess options in complex situations. Requires analytical and quantitative skills with experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing industry environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITYDecisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve general results. The minimum salary for the Sr HSE Manager position is $100,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Sr HSE Manager position is $115,000 annually.
