This position is with the Tech Diversification team where you and your team will be modernizing a critical state government system and helping to improve the lives of millions of state residents.Job Responsibilities
Lead technical direction and architecture of data layer
Mentor and provide guidance to team members
Act as the primary point of contact for technical issues around data
Drive implementation of best practices and standards in development and delivery
Identify and mitigate technical risks around data security
Give technical presentations and produce diagrams around database strategy and solutions
Experiment with new tools and provide suggestions. Example would be we are currently doing a POC on Liquibase for a database migration tool.
Design, build, and maintain scalable data processing systems
Optimize data pipelines for performance and cost
Develop and implement data security measures
Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and deliverables
Design and Implement data storage solutions including data warehouse
Design reporting solution and rewrite existing reports against the new data warehouse
Develop and maintain documentation for data systems and create Architectural Decision Records (ADR)
Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues
Customer facing experience preferred
EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experienceEXPERIENCE:Minimum 3 years of experience in software development with strong skills in at least one key competency.COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
Cloud technology experience preferred, GCP experience given preference
GitHub
Google Cloud Spanner or equivalent
Google BigQuery or equivalent
Google Data tools or equivalent
Google Cloud Storage or equivalent
Postgres SQL or equivalent
Google Looker Studio (nice to have, but any reporting technology knowledge like Tableau or SAP Business Objects is also very helpful)
Nice to have: C#, Java, Python coding skills that will be a big plus.
