Maintenance Engineer PAY 28-32 AN HOUR

Description:

Repairs, alters, installs, maintains and resets machinery and equipment. Operates and maintains water and factory refrigeration systems such as wells, pumps, water equipment, refrigeration and auxiliary systems.

Uses all hand power tools and electrical testing equipment as necessary in performance of duties. Uses drill presses, grinders, metal saws and pipe threading machines.

Repairs and replaces parts in machines and equipment by dismantling, locating/troubleshooting defective parts and reassembling. Makes necessary electrical repair or replacements.

Makes necessary minor parts to perform work such a brackets angles, braces piping, rigging, etc. by using metal cutting saws, drill press, pipe threaders, hand drills, hydraulic press, and hand tools.

Tests machinery and equipment as necessary at intervals and upon completion of all jobs to ensure proper operation, including all safety guards and devices.

Cleans up debris resulting from repairs, installations alterations and lubrication of machines and equipment. Work area must be left clean and ready for production upon job completion.

Lubricates machines and equipment, performs preventive maintenance procedures as necessary or as specified. Remove excess oil and/or grease that results from such lubrication work. Checks, fills and repairs oil systems.

Repairs, maintains, alters, or installs water, air, gas, acid and steam lines. Cuts threads and bends pipe and tubing using heating torch when necessary. Maintains electrical equipment.

Maintains repairs and installs sewer and drain lines and plumbing/plumbing fixtures.

Maintains all valves and expansion joints.

Obtains required materials from stockroom and other storage areas using centralized stores requisition card.

Maintains adequate replacement parts storage.

Maintains all rubber and flexible hose lines.

Moves equipment and machinery using rollers, trucks, chain blocks, hoists, block and tackles, pry bars, ropes, chains, cables, cranes, forklift trucks, dollies and other necessary equipment. Loads and unloads equipment and machinery from trucks as necessary.

Works from blueprints, sketches and specifications s necessary. Applies knowledge of shop mathematics as necessary.

Performs all welding and brazing using oxygen, acetylene and electric arc equipment.

Minimizes mechanical downtime and lost production without endangering operators or machinery through repairs.

Perform other miscellaneous duties required but not listed above.

Must be available to work weekday and/or weekend overtime as required.
