Network Engineer in Fort Knox, KY. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the possibility of hire. SUMMARYThe Network Engineer will provide onsite layer 2 and layer 3 network support. The Network Engineer will be responsible to provide both core hours as well as afterhours on call support on a rotational basis for network troubleshooting, out of cycle monthly maintenance support.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
  • Design, build, or operate equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server operation systems.
  • Determine specific network hardware or software requirements such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas.
  • Develop and implement solutions for varying network problems.
  • Plan test approach based on business requirements.
  • Adjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demands.
  • Communicate with customers, sales staff, or marketing staff to determine customer needs.

REQUIREMENTS
  • 4-5 years of experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field required.
  • Strong understanding of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), layer 2 and layer 3 routing, Cisco technologies, network analysis, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with logical design models (L2/L3, Virtual Port Channel (VPC), Virtual Device Context (VDC), Datacenter Zones, Spanning tree, Virtual Route Forwarding (VRF), VLAN Trucking Protocol (VTP), Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), physical cabling).
  • Ability to design enterprise network routing architectures using protocols such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Routing Information Protocol (RIP) and static routes.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Terminal Access Controller Access Control System (TACACS+), Remote Access Dial In User Service (RADIUS) and Authentication, Authorization, Auditing (AAA).
  • Vast expertise with virtualization technologies.
  • Working technical knowledge of network control protocols such as Quality of Service (QOS), Performance Routing (PfR), Power over Ethernet (PoE), Network Time Protocol (NTP), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), network management protocols such as Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) , File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and security protocols such as Secure Shell(SSH), Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS), AAA, Internet Protocol Security (IPSec), Trust Security (TustSec).
  • Knowledge or experience with Nexus 7K/5K/2K as other Software Defined Networking (SDN) solutions, such as VMWare NSX.
  • Scripting experience in Perl, Python, Javascript, PHP, Linux shell.
  • Familiar with Network Automation (Ansible, Python, etc.).
  • Familiar with Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) Software Defined Networking.
  • Familiar with IPV6 networking protocols.
  • Comptia S+ Certification.
  • Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance prior to start.
