Responsible for supporting and maintaining the Lexington, GMP manufacturing facility utility systems, including HVAC, WFI, Incubators, Compressed Gases, Waste Neutralization, and other building systems. Respond to utility and equipment related alarms, and maintenance issues during manufacturing campaigns. Identify areas of potential to improve operational performance and compliance. Uphold safety procedures and safe practices. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing support equipment during shift. The role will also be responsible for providing maintenance support for new processing equipment, installations, and modifications to existing equipment. Documents all work in CMMS, and equipment logbooks. Participates in rotation of “On-Call” duties of providing 24/7 Maintenance support.What you will do…

Operates, maintains and monitors all utility systems that supply manufacturing.

Performs preventative, routine, and non-routine maintenance on GMP equipment.

Serves as system expert on operation and maintenance of utility systems.

Tracks utility systems through the BMS and Delta V control systems.

Logs readings on various plant equipment systems and investigates when alarms occur.

Conducts audits through the mechanical spaces to ensure no adverse events have occurred.

Documents all work on validated systems including equipment logs, readings, and alarm investigations.

Analyze water systems, performs trend analysis and provides recommendations for program improvements and changes.

Investigates equipment failures and serves as system expert for troubleshooting and repairs.

Responds to critical alarms for equipment systems.

Rotates pumps and utility equipment on a routine basis to ensure equal runtimes occur.

Regenerates water softeners.

Reacts to loss of electrical power.

Responds to adverse conditions and implements corrective actions to restore equipment and/or utility to normal operation.

Ensure contractor compliance with EHS policies and procedures, including Hot Work and Lock Out Tag Out.

Works independently and collaborates with equipment Responsible Engineers.

The ability to lift 50 lbs to a height of 4 feet.

Follows standard operating procedures (SOP).

Assesses equipment needs and provides recommendations on system improvements.

Performs small projects as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.

Participate in the Maintenance on-call responsibilities.

How will you get here?Education

High School Diploma (or equivalent) required

2-year Trade School preferred

Experience

3+ years of direct experience supporting manufacturing systems within a regulated industry

Combination of education and experience will be considered

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

WFI systems, Purified Water, Clean Steam

Compressed gas

HVAC Operation

Environmental chambers

BMS

Documentation

Waste treatment and Bio-inactivation systems, Waste Water Operator License preferred

Practical knowledge of GMP’s and working in an SOP environment

Requires excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to work independently

Prior experience as a utility operator in a complex pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment

Must be fluent in English

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
