Test and Repair Operator

UPS is currently looking for a Test and Repair Operator (TRO). He/She will be responsible for following detailed procedures to accurately diagnose, test and repair the customer's failed product within standard times. The TRO follows detailed instructions covering virtually all procedures while meeting established repair, quality and cosmetic standards. Equipment data is entered into a PC-based database maintaining integrity of customer's product information. Technical guidance is received, as required, from the supervisor or senior technician. The TRO works within a team environment and demonstrates cooperation within the work group and management. The supervisor and/or senior technician audits the TRO's work.Responsibilities and DutiesEnsures compliance with repair, quality and cosmetic procedures and standards

Acquires skills necessary to perform assigned tasks

Achieves standard test times while adhering to documented procedures

Brings exceptions to the attention of a supervisor and/or lead person

Demonstrates cooperation and willingness to work within a team oriented environment

Knowledge and SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent

Ability to read/follow detailed oral and written procedures

Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude

Ability to lift 70 lbs.

In-depth knowledge of BIOS and ability to manipulate

Good working knowledge of Windows 10 and macOS

Skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

Ability to diagnose issues pertaining to computers (e.g., hard drive failure, system board failure, cooling problems, etc.)

Tech savvy
