Manpower Engineering is seeking a

Tooling Engineer for our client inthe Bowling Green, KY area. Direct/perm salaried opportunity. Sign on/relo bonus.

Summary of what you'd be doing:

  • Actively contribute to tooling design standards and strategies for tooling.
  • Primary point of contact and reference for tooling maintenance; preventative and corrective maintenance items related to tooling.
  • Manage programs form cradle-to-grave
  • Tracking engineering revision levels for both the part model and die database
  • Will be assigned certain customer responsibility
  • Monitor tooling uptime for assigned die family and generate an improvement roadmap of countermeasures for all top issues causing downtime and stops (target is >90% tooling uptime at stated cycle time goal for part).
  • Design countermeasures and engineering trials based on roadmap above; implement using test card and PCR process and verify effectiveness of corrective action using quantitative and statistical tools.
  • Generate and maintain standardization matrix for all tools in rotation that tracks implementation of verified corrective actions from roadmap.
  • Track tooling rotation and life and maintain refurbishment forecast for 12 months in future.
  • Coordinate all external maintenance and improvement activities for assigned tools.
  • Assist purchasing and warehouse personnel in the creation and tracking of spare parts.

Here's a summary of who we're seeking:

  • BS Degree in Engineering preferred
  • Experience in

    either die cast tooling, injection molding tooling, sheet metal stamping processes that employ durable tooling would also be a fit.
  • Proficient background in tooling and repair
  • Don't need to be a Tool Designer, but would like someone with some design experience (NX preferred) who can work well with tool shops and be able to improve upon tooling design
  • Preferred to have Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM experience.
  • Someone who will own the program cradle-to-grave. Track data, manage products, customer-oriented, own any issues that arise in production
  • Be able to handle both new programs and existing programs. For new programs, should have solid understanding of the design aspects to be able to work with vendors
  • Someone who can work well with other departments
  • Someone who likes to learn, do continuous learning
  • Someone not afraid to ask question and someone who will provide input if see a better way to do something
