As a Network Engineer they will lead and manage from a technical network infrastructure and device perspective a variety of projects that support critical business processes for Internal Logistics using Automated Guided Vehicles/Automated Mobile Robots/Vision Guide Vehicles. They will work in an innovating at a fast pace and is automating internal part conveyance with varying robot technologies. PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES: Contributing to and supporting AGV workstreams including Tactical Projects, Operational Systems, Governance & Sustainment and Strategic initiatives. Tactical Project support: Working with AGV Vendors on upcoming or inflight projects. Focus areas will include network design for AGV Systems, Network Settings and Standardized Configuration for AGV systems. Operational Project Support: Working with AGV Vendors on deployed projects. Focus areas will include working with all stakeholders to identify root cause, short term and long-term countermeasures for operational issues. Governance and Standards: Working with AGV Vendors to develop, maintain and ensure deployment of standards to projects. Strategic Initiatives: Working with AGV Vendors on future technical Robotic conveyance initiatives and emerging technologies including proof of concepts. For example, cellular enabled AGV s, mesh networked robots. Ensure the overall stability, integrity, and efficiency of assigned system(s) infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical service and support from the platform level to the device level. Strategic Initiatives: Working with internal and AGV Vendors on future technical Robotic conveyance initiatives and emerging technologies including proof of concepts. (example, cellular enabled AGV s, mesh networked robots). REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Experience with Wireless Networking/Technologies and Cisco switches & routers, WIFI, 4G LTE. Exp working with various Wi-Fi card technologies, including Siemens, Moxa, and/or Intel etc. PLC is required, as the mgr would like this person to have Industrial exp. Must have Networking experience and exposure to PLC system and Controls systems networks. Network Engineer who has provided mid to senior-level network engineering leadership. Must have experience working with various Wi-Fi card technologies, including Siemens, Moxa, and/or Intel etc. Large enterprise network experience with client facing exposure. Warehousing/ Production Manufacturing Experience Firewall and Security skills Cloud Computing Experience Knowledge of Wireshark, DNAC, Ekahau and other network tools to support project and day to day work. Must have scrum/agile experience. Able to work weekends when needed Able to travel between 10% to 25% domestically in US, Mexico, and possibly Canada. Must have good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Work with all stakeholders and engage in troubleshooting in a high-pressure environment. Ability to review current situation and make confident recommendations for change/Kaizen/improvement. Able to analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their architecture framework. Education: Computer Science Majoring in Networking or related degree or relevant experience.Ideal Candidate: 3+ years experience in an Automotive Manufacturing setting or other Engineering based Manufacturing setting. Experience in various AGV robots and systems. Experience in various Wi-Fi card technology including Siemens, Moxa, Intel etc. Industrial Networking Experience with exposure to PLC system and controls systems networks. Basic level of operating systems and programming language concepts. Experience working in agile or Kanban in JIRA. Experience with high availability mission critical production impacting systems.
