Description Robert Half has an opening for an Accounting Clerk with our client in Lockport, Louisiana. This role involves meticulous work in managing customer credit applications, maintaining credit records, and resolving inquiries related to credit. You will be part of a team that operates within the telecom industry, offering significant contributions to the efficient functioning of our finance department. This is a short-term contract opportunity.Responsibilities: Efficiently process customer credit applications and maintain accurate records Identify and rectify any discrepancies in customer credit accounts Timely follow-up on delinquent payments to ensure smooth financial operations Assist in accounts payable duties including handling vendor invoices and disbursement filing Support Accounts Receivable by processing daily invoices/credits and applying cash receipts Contribute to general accounting and administration support by assisting with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing Correct transaction documents and initiate necessary revisions on related documents or entries Prepare comprehensive statements and reports from various sources Post financial information to journals, registers, and ledgers manually or using electronic equipment Participate in special projects as assigned by the management.Requirements Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role within the finance department Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry procedures Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Oracle, NetSuite, and SAP Familiarity with ADP - Payroll systems and processes Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles Experience with account reconciliation and invoice processing Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively Strong numeric skills and the ability to spot numerical errors Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong analytical skills and the ability to make decisions based on detailed analysis Relevant certification or degree in finance, accounting or business administration is advantageousRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
