Accounts Payable Specialist

Description Robert Half has an opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist with our client in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The role is within the professional services industry, and the selected candidate will be integral to the accounts payable functions of an international construction company. The role involves dealing with the administrative and clerical needs of the AP/Finance Department and providing customer service to internal business partners. This is a long-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities Handle the administrative and clerical needs of the AP/Finance Department efficiently Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with company policies Provide customer service to internal business partners, addressing their inquiries and issues Assist with internal and external audits as required Open, sort, and distribute daily department mail, ensuring all documents are properly handled Sort, log, photocopy, and file invoices, checks, and other documents, maintaining an organized record Verify, log, and mail checks, including expediting special handling Perform special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills. Utilize accounting software systems and Microsoft Excel to perform accounting functions Process check payments and manage data entry tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiencyRequirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is necessary Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required Familiarity with various Accounting Functions is essential Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is a must Skills in Check Processing are desired Ability to perform Data Entry tasks accurately and efficiently is needed Proven ability to resolve Discrepancy issues effectively is requiredRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
