Associate Attorney – Criminal Defense & Litigation

Location: New Orleans Metro & South Louisiana (travel required)

Compensation: $60,000 base + 25% fee-sharing on business you bring in + quarterly performance-based bonuses

About the Practice

We are a growing criminal defense and litigation practice handling a high volume of cases across Jefferson Parish, Orleans Parish, and surrounding South Louisiana courts. Our primary focus is criminal defense, with a smaller number of civil cases and occasional traffic matters. Court appearances are frequent, and while trials are part of our work, they are not the day-to-day rhythm of the practice.

We work hard in a relaxed but professional environment. The attorneys here take ownership of their cases, stay accountable, and push to get results for clients. This position is best for candidates who are serious about practicing law and ready to commit themselves to the work.

Responsibilities

Represent clients in criminal and civil matters, including hearings, motions, negotiations, and trials

Draft motions, pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents

Travel to court appearances across the New Orleans metro and South Louisiana

Manage cases with minimal supervision

Communicate with clients effectively and professionally

Qualifications

Must be licensed to practice law in Louisiana (active and in good standing)

All experience levels welcome to apply

Must have zero issues with public speaking — confidence in court is essential

Able to either work independently from day one or be coachable and teachable with a willingness to grow quickly

Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills

Comfortable with frequent travel and managing a varied caseload

Spanish language skills a plus

Prior criminal defense or immigration experience a plus
