This position is a Graphic Design Manager overseeing a small design department. Applicants must have graphic design experience with direct knowledge of the printing industry. Our business is an advanced team of print professionals looking to add another driven and experienced professional to our team. Applicants must be hardworking self‐starters who are able to teach themselves and learn on their own. While many skills in the print industry can be taught, much of it can only be learned through trial and error. Applications also be dedicated to building a career relationship with a company, including committing to extra hours when deadline driven projects are at hand.

Direct experience includes but is not limited to:

- A 4-year degree in Graphic Design or similar is preferred.

- Formal management experience of 1‐5 employees is preferred.

- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Corel Draw

- Variable data processing and merging

- Experience using RIP software for processing commercial print files

- Implementing processes like standard operating procedures, training schedules, yearly reviews, etc.

- File prep and "fixing" for print ready status ‐ pre-flighting, layering, knockout, trapping, and overprints-

- Experience required for complex large format projects, like bus tiling and vehicle wraps

- Experience instituting Color Management rules and methodologies adhering to industry color standards

- Working knowledge of ICC profiling, press profiling, and color gamut limitations

Core Responsibilities Include:

- Oversee, control, and manage all incoming jobs that require art production, digital manipulation, or output.

- Preflight all incoming digital files to ensure the most accurate reproduction based on customer expectations.

- Constant analysis and improvement of current preflight and prepress standards against evolving industry standards.

- Direct responsibility for all digital processes, and equipment.

- Maintain proper calibration of digital equipment to industry standards utilizing modern RIP and color calibration equipment.

- Organize and maintain the company’s artwork database.

- Coordinate with other managers concerning schedules and deadlines, ensuring a smooth workflow.

- Proof all jobs for accuracy, content, color, size, and production requirements.

- Ensure all digital equipment is in working order as well as coordinate repairs if needed.

- Maintain all graphics software and licensing.

- Willingness to learn new skills and train employees on these skills as they are incorporated into the digital workflow.

- Self‐maintaining current activity in the modern design and print market via forums, magazines, or memberships

in order to grow with developing technologies and strategies. This knowledge is essential in updating processes and procedures as well . as recommending new equipment and software.
