What’s the job?Supervises the daily activities of maintenance personnel and assists with maintenance project work as assigned. This position provides key leadership to safety, quality, housekeeping, and cost reduction while promoting positive employee relations throughout the maintenance organization. The supervisor is held accountable to ensure maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements, policies, and procedures in a manner consistent with CertainTeed Roofing’s Principles of Conduct and Action.

Organize and structure planned and unplanned repairs and preventive maintenance routines in a manner that will ensure efficient operation of equipment and plant operating systems.

Directly supervise the hourly skilled maintenance employees in the improvement and maintenance of plant equipment, buildings, machinery, utilities, etc.

Communicate expectations, measure and assess employee performance, provide coaching and development opportunities, and administer disciplinary action if needed.

Provides input into planning and scheduling of projects.

Supports Autonomous Maintenance through training of craftsmen and ensuring that equipment basic conditions are maintained.

Responsible for improving the reliability of the production equipment.

Report all EH&S incidents – Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.

Conduct SMAT Audits to support the plant's EHS goals.

Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.

Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.

Participate in the development, understanding, and review of all position JSA and SOP’s

What do you bring?

Minimum of 2-year degree in Electrical discipline (equivalent experience may be considered)

Good working knowledge of industrial automation, PLCs, VFD’s, SCADA, and Servo technology

5+ years of Supervisory experience

Proficient in the use of MS Office (familiarity with SAP a plus)

General understanding of ISO methodology (ISO 9001, 14001, & OHSAS 18001)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S & Six Sigma a plus

Strong skills in electrical troubleshooting and fault analysis
