Administers company’s participation in the MISO Energy and Operating Reserves Market. Assists in the development of strategic and operational financial plans with a focus on maximizing the benefit for customers. Achieves results by directing, overseeing, coordinating and maintaining market activities, and procedures, and ensures they are in line with corporate and market strategy. Provide cross-functional support in order to assure activities align corporate strategic goals and market requirements. Responsible for the performance and development of high-level employees within Market Operations.Key Responsibilities

Champions a corporate culture that emphasizes transparency, integrity, safety, environmental responsibility, employee development, diversity and inclusion, customer service, and operational excellence.

Provides leadership, influence change, and driving the overall definition and execution of market operations initiatives required to achieve efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation objectives. Ensures these initiatives are in line with corporate goals and strategies.

Steer business expectations and perceptions for market operations, and support ongoing two-way communication to ensure alignment with functional strategies, priorities and governance focused on achieving operational agility.

Achieves results by planning and managing market operations activities, procedures, and resourcing. Contributes to agile and complex projects necessitating the application of new and unique market strategies, involves alignment to large strategic projects.

Owns and oversee the development of market participation governance, standards, procedures, processes and metrics frameworks ensuring alignment with market requirements and corporate strategies.

Serves as escalation point for staff to report risks, ensuring business expectations, goals and objectives are understood and met. Escalate to leadership, when necessary.

Oversees and manages the performance of market operations team, lead and guide the work of team members, develop their skills and hold them accountable to defined strategic objectives.

Serves as a liaison between business stakeholders and market operations staff.

Interacts and influence Director level management on a regular basis; supporting business objectives within market operations, as well as the overall corporate strategy.

Scope of work may be regional in reach and impact.

Leads market operations team through highly complex objectives, milestones, obstacles and priorities while achieving strategic objectives.

QualificationsRequired Education, Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field

7-10+ years of related experience.

5+ years people management experience, preferred.

Knowledge of standard business practices and professionalism.

Ability to interact with all levels of employees to address difficult issues.

Ability to manage high workloads and conflicting priorities.

Ability to operate effectively and proactively with an employee centric mindset.

Detailed-oriented and high work standards in support of seamless execution.

Excel at delivering change management to ensure the change is sustainable and the benefits are realized.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret KPIs/metrics and derive insights into actionable opportunities.

Drive issues to resolution while maintaining an atmosphere of collaboration.

Maintain a strong knowledge of industry and technology trends.
