This role is to provide a technical resource to assist personnel with RPS and RCA activities to maintain and raise the Standards of the facility to run a low cost, on specification, reliable, optimized operation, thereby maximizing value to the business. The need for and application of this role is determined by the specific Plant/business. The long-term goal of this position is to obtain enough experience to become the Technical Manager or Quality Manager of this or another site.Understands all applicable process technology, equipment and control technology. Works with Technical Advising and plant personnel to optimize operations, meet Business and plant goals. (Production, cost, quality)

Participates in advanced trouble shooting and coaches others to learn these skills

Implements best practices in operations to optimize operations

Performs appropriate tasks as determined by Technical Manager

Understands and applies skills and knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC) technology, to maximize plant asset utilization and produce low cost, quality products

Completes and earns Six-Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt Certification

Initiates changes to Plant Operating procedures to ensure they are valid and up to date. Works with Production Technicians in this respect

Maintains the Plant Mass Balances and corresponding recipes for all products

Facilitates HOS appropriate activities

Networks with other engineers on site and within the global business to leverage knowledge on plant operations (i.e., Production, Improvement, etc.)

As required, communicate technical information and issues to plant personnel, Technology or Expertise centers

As required, participates on and leads teams in his/her area of accountability

As required, completes and participates in all Safety and Environmental programs

As required, participates in plant and equipment startups, PSSRs, processes MOC

YOU MUST HAVEMust have a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering

2 years’ experience in a production facility

Must have the skills to effectively convey and communicate information to all levels of the organization

Must have the ability to plan, schedule, and prioritize multiple activities to ensure delivery of defined objective

Must recognize from a human relations standpoint, that the plant personnel can be his/her greatest asset and fully involve them in the decision-making process

WE VALUEDesirable to have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a chemical process facility with exposure to construction practices and experience to supervision

Desirable to have mechanical aptitude or hobbies that require mechanical skills

Strong human relation skills are required to work with both technical and non-technical personnel in diverse jobs from maintenance to operations to support staff personnel

Experience in Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, Honeywell Operating System, and continuous improvement or similar production processes within a high volume, high quality manufacturing environment preferred

Computer literacy expected in Microsoft Windows, Office

Computer Literacy in Minitab, SAP, and Lotus Notes are an asset

Programming skills in Visual Basic and VBA are a great asset

ISO 9000 familiarity is an asset

Presentations to Leadership when appropriate
