Southland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for experienced Project Engineers for our New Orleans division. We are looking for someone with knowledge in U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects and drainage, utility, roadway construction. Responsibilities/Duties:

Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals. Assist in management of project permit process.

Assisting management with field & office operations such as ordering of materials and quality control Assist is preparation of bid packages and procurement.

Receive and review change orders.

Assist more senior civil engineers with entry level engineering tasks

Assist with performing onsite construction administration and construction observation services including reporting/monitoring contractor's compliance with contract documents.

Evaluates change order requests including design changes, specifications and drawing releases and reports status. Evaluates submittals of shop drawings, material data and samples and takes appropriate action based upon contract specifications, submission of correspondence to the owner and quantity tracking.

Reviews and processes as-built drawings to ensure that all changes during the course of construction are recorded. Completes project close out requirements in accordance with contract documents.

Coordinates meeting agendas, prepares minutes and follows up on action items

Maintains effective and professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers and contractors. Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Construction/related degree with 4+ years of Heavy Civil construction experience Excellent computer skills and analytical ability

Experience working with Primavera P6, Microsoft office, AutoCAD & Bluebeam Revu Understanding of industrial construction process

Must have ability to interpret contract specifications and drawings Knowledge of contract procedures and principles

Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment

Ability to understand construction logic and sequencing of complex projects Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering Relevant US experience can waive degree.

Prefer - Experience in civil, infrastructure to include: USACE projects, pipeline, water treatment, concrete, marine, etc.). USACE CQM Certification
