Project Engineer IIGeismar, LAWe are looking for a Project Engineer II to join our XA Engineering team in Geismar, LA.Come create chemistry with us!We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for the development and execution of capital project improvements within Utilities, Infrastructure, and EO Units at the Geismar site . You will work closely in teams consisting of Operations, Technology, Design, EHS, and Procurement personnel to ensure the safe and effective implementation of plant expansion, process debottlenecking, and infrastructure improvement projects. This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your cross-disciplinary knowledge of civil, piping, mechanical, and electrical/instrumentation disciplines. You may also provide support as a discipline engineer for assigned projects. This position will be within the site engineering group and may provide support across the plant in various businesses.As a Project Engineer II, you create chemistry by

Developing project scopes, generate and/or obtain cost estimates, and prepare appropriation funding requests for project investments up to $5M. Additionally, you will ensure that appropriate project safety reviews are completed as required both before and after approval and utilize applicable value-improving practices (VIP's) to optimize project scope and costs.

Seeking compliance with all environmental, safety, and health requirements, and promoting a safe working environment for project execution.

Developing and maintaining partnerships with assigned project manufacturing representatives to execute projects from initial scoping and funding, through detailed engineering and procurement, startup and commissioning, and then final documentation and closure. Additionally, you will participate and contribute on engineering discipline teams via ad hoc assignments with other Site and North America engineers to review, update, and develop project management procedures, guidelines, standards, and practices.

Requesting and coordinating required process and design engineering and designing resources (from the site or corporate groups or outside engineering vendors) to prepare engineering design deliverables and to procure equipment, fabricated materials, and services. Also, maintaining SAP project data entries, monitoring project progress through scheduling and other tools, performing project status reporting, and controlling spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments.

Performing procurement activities as required, including preparing specifications, issuing requisitions, evaluating bids, and dealing with vendors.

Ensuring proper documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory and BASF requirements, also by promoting identification of lessons learned from completed projects to improve work practices. Additionally, you will mentor and coach newer engineers, including participants in the Professional Development Program.

If you

Have a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another related technical field

Have 3+ years of experience in the chemical, petrochemical, refining industry preferably working in either (Projects, Maintenance, and/or Operations).

Have knowledge of industry/design standards for equipment (Pumps, pipe, exchangers, vessels, etc.)
