We are currently hiring a full-time cook to join our team at a busy barbecue restaurant located in the heart of the French Quarter. The ideal candidate will have culinary experience and be capable of handling various responsibilities including seasoning and trimming meat for smoking, food preparation, frying, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

Season and trim meat for smoking according to restaurant standards.

Prepare ingredients and assist with cooking tasks as directed by the chef or kitchen manager.

Ensure adherence to standard health department requirements for food handling and safety.

Possess a clear understanding of heating food to appropriate temperatures.

Hold or obtain a Safe-Serve certificate to demonstrate knowledge of food safety practices.

Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Communicate effectively and courteously with guests when necessary.

Qualifications:

Previous culinary experience is required. Familiarity with barbecue cooking techniques is preferred but not mandatory.

Knowledge of food safety protocols and standard kitchen practices.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor when interacting with guests.

Must be a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the overall success of the restaurant.
