Workday COE Director The Workday COE Director is accountable for creating and delivering scalable, impactful and compliant technology solutions via the Workday Platforms (Human Capital Management, Financials, Adaptive). This role serves as a technology and strategy partner to the business leaders within Human Resources and Finance Divisions. The Director is accountable for influencing product roadmaps, prioritizing and executing on the uptake of new products and features aligned with the strategic vision of the Product Owners. System Strategy & Execution

  • Responsible for the development and influence of the overall global Workday Human Capital Management system, workday Financials and Workday Adaptive technology strategic vision.
  • Works closely with Human Resources HCM Product Owner to influence, optimize, and incorporate HRIS capabilities provided by the Workday HCM system.
  • Works closely with the Workday Financials Product Owner to influence, optimize and incorporate Financial capabilities provided by the Workday Financials system.
  • Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions to meet global business needs.
  • Ensures the security, scalability, and reliability of business-critical systems which includes managing priorities and balancing demands in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Design, develop and oversee a Governance Model for the Workday environment that provides structure around making decisions, clarity of roles and responsibilities, track changes and modifications, and provide guidance around meeting compliance standards.
Project Management
  • Develop and lead a collaborative global team of approximately 6 to 8 Workday technical/functional Analysts, while working with Product Owners, that plans, designs, develops, and implements solutions that support operations and automation within Human Resources and Finance
  • Manage new projects/enhancement requests from initiation through post implementation support including configuration
  • Negotiate appropriate trade-offs with Product Owners and ensure clear accountability, targets, timelines, and deliverables for each major initiative.
  • Fosters an expectation of excellence by serving as an effective role model and establishing clear expectations and metrics for performance evaluations and staff development
  • Develop overall testing methodologies and ensuring the application of these methodologies
  • Works with project team members to develop detailed project plans, including tasks, milestones, and resources allocation
Application Ownership
  • Apply knowledge of industry, product and functional best practices, and related technology trends to guide Fiserv toward appropriate Workday solutions
  • Establishes and develops a trusted and collaborative working relationships with Product Owners, Product functional users and other stakeholders to develop a thorough knowledge of the Line of Business
  • Manages the relationship with any Third Party Support vendors and works closely with the Product Owners and Third Party Support vendors to ensure successful and efficient operations
  • Manage the multiple tenant environments and Data Refresh Exemption Requests to ensure multiple projects, configuration changes, user acceptance testing and are not lost or over written
  • Engages with the Workday Community to ensure the company is maximizing the capability of its Workday products
Staff Management
  • Functions as an advocate for the Workday Culture and provides inspiration and leadership to IT Staff and demonstrates the characteristics of a leader that builds respect within and for the IT Team
  • Fosters an expectation of excellence by serving as an effective role model and establishing clear expectations and metrics for performance evaluations and staff development
  • Drives the design and implementation of a scalable COE team structure and operating model and the necessary product features to deliver increased self-service capabilities within the Workday products and the proactive identification and uptake of best practice solutions.
Education & Experience Required: Bachelors degree and 10 years of industry experience in configuring HR and/or Financial systems; 5 years experience with Cloud based technology systems, Workday HCM Certification; Workday Financials Certification Preferred: 5 years direct experience with Workday KSAs
