St. Joseph Healthcare, a member of Covenant Health, has an immediate need for a per-diem Physician within its Emergency Department @ St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bangor, Maine.

27 hours of daily physician coverage with 24 hours of APP coverage - 3 clinicians working together during peak hours

Epic EMR with ample time during scheduled shifts for chart completion

Preferred candidates will have completed a US-based Emergency Medicine residency; attending EM experience appreciated but new EM residency graduates are also encouraged to apply

Patient-centered model with emphasis on spending quality time with patients and serving those in our community who are the most in need

St Joseph’s also has a robust slate of specialty coverage to support the Emergency Department including Hospitalists, General Surgery, Orthopedic/Hand Surgery, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Urology along with outpatient Wound Services, Endocrinology, and Rheumatology.

A 403(b)-retirement plan is offered to all employed Providers, regardless of FTE, as well as an optional 457(b) deferred compensation plan to allow for maximized retirement savings.

Bangor , the geographic center of Maine, is home to nationally acclaimed Universities, a revitalized downtown filled with shops, restaurants, microbreweries, and fine arts attractions for all ages. The surrounding towns allow for a variety of living experiences and are home to award-winning elementary and high school systems.
