Machining instructor for makerspace

FACTORY 3, a makerspace in Portland, is seeking a part-time machining instructor for classes taught in our facility on our Bridgeport knee mill and South Bend lathe.

1. Intro classes are currently scheduled on one Saturday per month, for 4 hours, 2-6 students. Most students are beginners using a machine tool for the first time. The instructor will demonstrate the basics of operation, including safe operation, and with hands-on experience for the students, in four hours.

2. Private lessons are scheduled upon request, 2-hour lesson at time agreed upon between instructor and student, coordinated with Factory 3.

Factory 3 provides all tools and consumables, and promotes and schedules all classes.

About us: Factory 3 offers its members shared use of wood, metal, and electronics/tech shops, as well as common work areas and sewing equipment. Some members also rent private studios. We offer more than 40 different classes to members and the public.
