JOB SUMMARYPatient Access Representatives are responsible for checking in new patients in the hospital setting, and also provides facility and billing information to new and existing patients. The Patient Access Representative is the person who answers the phone when patients call with questions. They are also responsible for patient information intake and ensuring this information is readily available for doctors and nurses. Candidates must be able to work on call, varied, and scheduled shifts which may include days, evenings, weekends and holidays as well as possible overnight shiftsJOB REQUIREMENTSEducation:·High School diploma or equivalent·Medical terminology and insurance experience is a plusOther Skills Required:·Professional and positive demeanor·Basic computer skills·Proficiency with Microsoft Office·Organization skills·Ability to multitask·Written, verbal and interpersonal skills·Capacity for conducting new patient intake interviews·Ability to be flexible and patient with patients when fielding their concerns·Aptitude to work in a busy environment with a diverse patient population·Medical terminology and insurance experience is a plus·Candidate must be able to type a minimum of 35 words per minute and possess basic computer skills.
