Position: Project Manager Duration: 2 years Location: Augusta ME- remote until safe re-entry-Must be on site within 2 weeks Description The Project Management Office supports a broad portfolio of Maine's strategic initiatives, supporting all sixteen Agencies under the Executive branch. As a member of the Project Management Team, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of internal/external Business and IT Partners and be accountable for leading project teams to achieve their deliverable goals on time with a high level of quality. This position may be responsible for several concurrent projects spanning multiple Agencies, Offices, and teams. The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of a project from impact assessment through to implementation. The Project Management Office incorporates all standardized methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.) to ensure quality management services to our clients. The Project Manager, is therefore, expected to possess the skills and experience to manage the execution of a project using any of those methodologies. This position is responsible for applying appropriate knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques in order to manage medium to large projects. Project activities include, but are not limited to, establishing clear and achievable objectives and planning and directing people to reach objectives while balancing competing demands for quality, scope, time, and cost, and adapting to different concerns and expectations of stakeholders. A professional project manager should be able to manage a project without extensive knowledge of the subject matter. This position is responsible for mentoring others and contributing to continual improvement of project management knowledge and skill in the organization. This Project Manager will manage the Oracle Private Cloud Appliance Implementation project. This project will entail moving all of the Oracle application and middleware workloads off of the Oracle ExaLogic appliance and rehosting it in the Oracle Private Cloud Appliance. This will require collaboration and coordination with almost every unit of MaineIT, and will also require communication with MaineIT's agency partners to ensure a seamless transition. Additionally, this the project manager will provide portfolio management support to Enterprise Data Service, including functions such as: Assist in defining and prioritizing future initiatives throughout the FY 22/23 biennium using appropriate Portfolio Management tools and assets. Collaboration & cooperation with other MaineIT projects through interaction with the PMO. This Project Manager may also be assigned other duties or projects as defined by the Project Management Office where the Project Manager's capacity and skills allow Top 3 Skills: In depth knowledge/understanding of the PMI methodology and a broad understanding/awareness of SDLC methodologies. Experience managing project work in an Enterprise Oracle Hosting Environment, managing the impact of technology change on downstream partners Experience managing IT Security related projects.
