Trigyn's direct government client has a contract assignment for Application Developer (Visual Basic) in Baltimore, MD.

The ideal candidate must possess the following: Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of software development best practices. At least five years of experience in software development using Visual Basic. Degree from an accredited college with a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Services, Business Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business or Public Administration, Communications or a related field. May be substituted with relevant software development experience of 5 or more years.

Responsibilities: Leads in the design and development of Visual Basic based solutions based on defined requirements. Ensures that projects are completed in accordance with established scope, deadlines, budgets, and technical standards. Follows all required software development standards, change control procedures, and security requirements. Ability to build relationships with project sponsors, stakeholders, other technical staff, vendors, and end users. Assists in the formulation of business and testing requirements. Coordinates and performs required unit, system and performance testing. Works with other team members on User Acceptance testing and issue resolution. Participates in continuous improvement activities by identifying and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develops strategies for improvements. Produces status reports and communications on a regular basis.

Required Skills: Skill in developing Visual Basic software solutions using Visual Studio.net Experience working with SQL Server 2016+ Skill in designing and documenting automated processes. Skill in the operation of computers and peripheral equipment. Knowledge and understanding in application and system programming. Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office suite of tools including; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and MS Project. Knowledge of programming concepts and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to analyze and evaluate the feasibility and suitability of Data Warehouse projects. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to coordinate the work of the team with the work of other units within the Department of Research, Assessment and Accountability and other offices and departments. Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with little technical oversight. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of users and team members.
