Job Title: AWS Database AdminLocation: Columbia, MDJob Type : Full-Time with Sparksoft

Job Summary:We are searching for a Database Administrator to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and reviewing existing data processing solutions. You will act as a bridge between the DevOps team and multiple development teams defining, analyzing and documenting defects then leveraging them to drive the technical resolution. The Database Administrator will design and build internal and production data processing solutions and scalable data auditing solutions for external data processing systems. In this role, you will gain a depth and breadth of business and systems understanding across the entire systems portfolio including, cloud architecture, AWS, Azure, and database optimization.

Responsibilities: · Ensures adherence to disaster recovery best practices and guidelines for Cloud Data Solutions· Designs Data Schemas and plans for loading and extracting data· Develops and maintains data dictionaries for use in correlation of data and explanation of data to non-experts.· Monitors the performance of all data hardware and software on cloud· Ethically handle private data, including financial and sensitive organizational data· Preserves data integrity· Establish the needs of users and systems and monitor access and security· Map out the conceptual design for planned databases, datasets & Integrations· Assess and refine as need the logical design of data system so that they can be translated for use with new or changing data models· Maintain data standards, including adherence to Data protection best practices· Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definition for the data dictionary· Work closely with system administrators, software engineers, and data architects to ensure new data capabilities meet organizational needs while conforming to operational standards· Communicate regularly with technical and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security· Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security· Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations· Independently analyze, solve, and correct database issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end· Research, evaluate, design and model NoSQL products· Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes· Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement· Assisted with migrating from one database to another· Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours· Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to peers and team members· Expertise in Database development, advanced TSQL, Stored Procedures & views· Strong knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for AWS/Azure infrastructure· Performance tuning and optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools· Experience managing database backups, restores, and recovery models· DevOps and CI-CD (AWS Pipelines) experience with AWS cloud services

Required Skills:· Requires strong knowledge of database architectures models, ETLs, Transactional Replication, data modeling, SQL query best practices, leveraging data through APIs, and data correlation and transformations· Experience working with Postgres, NoSQL and/or SQL Server databases· Strong SQL coding skills· Experience in database tuning· Strong multitasking, analytical and creative skills· Knowledge of database scalability, encryption-at-rest, snapshots· Experience managing database backups, restores, and recovery models· Experience implementing operational automation using scripts (especially Powershell)
