Description We are seeking a Benefits Customer Service Associate to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will be instrumental in assisting employees and retirees with health benefits during the annual Open Enrollment period. This role is a contract-based opportunity with a focus on customer service in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.Responsibilities: Assist employees and retirees on Open Enrollment phone lines to enroll, cancel or change their health care benefits on the Workday Benefits System. Respond to telephone inquiries and assist callers in making health benefit changes online. Review and approve required documentation such as birth and marriage certificates. Maintain accurate records and files pertaining to customer interactions and transactions. Provide support in a variety of office tasks, including sorting and distributing mail. Utilize skills in Benefits Administration and Benefits Coordination to enhance customer service delivery. Exhibit proficiency in 'Open Enrollment' and 'Call Center Customer Service' to handle customer inquiries. Commit to a six-week period of open enrollment, ensuring continuous service to customers. Deal with a wide variety of individuals both in person and on the telephone, including handling difficult customers with tact and diplomacy. Operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, demonstrating the ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail. Acquire and apply knowledge of Healthcare terminology, medical health insurance and Medicare eligibility to assist in customer interactions. Requirements Minimum of one year experience in a similar role. Proven skills in Benefits Administration and Benefits Coordination. Experience with Open Enrollment processes is a must. Prior experience in Call Center Customer Service is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of relevant software and computer systems. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. Willingness to stay updated with changes in benefit procedures and laws. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
