Description:
  • Collaborate with Security, Engineering and Data teams to incorporate strong security controls, apply security best practices in our development life cycle, and mitigate risks and security vulnerabilities.
  • Support the development and maintenance of scalable data stores that supply big data in forms needed for business analysis.
  • Collaborate with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and big data technologies and help adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
  • Perform auditing activities to include development, implementation, and maintenance and the regular evaluation of policies to validate and verify ongoing DLP coverage at all monitoring points is in place and effective
  • Perform routine auditing of system configuration compliance with established build standards and verify changes are in accordance with change control management.
  • Implement configurations enforcing data policies and standards.
  • Serve as a technical consultant to the enterprise and lead research and prototyping of innovative technologies and products, as well as identify and manage risks for projects in active development.
  • Ensure the technology and architectural roadmap of engineering is properly aligned with, and supports, the product/business roadmap.
  • Promote and drive the implementation of a data security architecture that supports Engineering's goals and deliverables, through strategy, design, requirements, and code.
  • Contribute to defining the cloud infrastructure redundancy maturity level and assist with planning/ implementation activities
  • Explore and learn the latest cloud technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency
  • Develop threat modeling processes that analyze the Agency's ability to mitigate cyber-attacks across business and technology environments
  • Develop cyber threat scenarios to enable risk management and the secure deployment of key organizational initiative
  • Identify areas for potential attacks and systemic security issues as they relate to threats and vulnerabilities, including recommendations for enhancements or remediation
  • Monitor the cyber threat environment to incorporate trends in potential attack activity
  • Assist with other services as outlined in this SOW.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems / Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, related field, or 10 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of total work experience with 4 years of technical experience working in software development, data engineering, business intelligence, data science or related field
  • Experience with:
    • Building reliable and scalable distributed systems, developing data platforms and infrastructure
    • Threat modeling
    • Data modeling, ETL development, data tagging, data classification, and/or data warehousing
    • Using big data technologies
    • CI/CD development pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform)
    • Query tuning and infrastructure management
    • Programming languages (e.g., Java, Python)
    • Container/ orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Puppet)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with:
    • Container and server less technologies (i.e.: AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions, Azure Functions etc.)
    • Developing DevOps Methodologies by using orchestration tools (i.e.: Chef, Ansible, etc.)
    • Query tuning and infrastructure management
