Description We are looking for an accounting professional who is able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision and is self-driven and organized. Our client is in current pursuit for a qualified Bookkeeper. The Bookkeeper will handle bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, full cycle A/P, and payroll. At times, the Full Charge Bookkeeper might also be asked to oversee the clerical staff. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Towson, Maryland area. Organize sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments
Arrange cash flow projections, as needed
Put subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirements together
Keep Accounts Payable up to date
Other assignments as requested
Produce monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents
Knowledgeable in credit card management and reconciliation
Familiar with Accounts Receivable
Maintain monthly accounting close
Catalog budget transfers
Prepare cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.
Report on business license and gross receipts
Requirements
Strong analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills
Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
Great attention to detail
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Relevant accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
Strong organization skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks
Deltek Vision experience highly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of Full Cycle Payroll
Solid understanding of benefits administration
Accruals experience preferred
Proficiency in Financial Statement
Adeptness in Accounts Receivable (AR)
Command of Full Charge Bookkeeping
Practical knowledge of billing
General familiarity with Employee Timesheets
Accounts Payable (AP) experience
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
5+ years of related experience
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problem
