Our Federal client is working on research that focuses on the development and evaluation of computer algorithms for automated text analysis. This area of research works primarily with text from the biomedical literature or electronic medical records and examines a wide variety of Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks, including information extraction, literature searches, question answering, and text summarization. To enhance this research, we are adding a C 17-20 Software Developer to the team. This Bethesda, MD based position is currently remote but subject to client requirements in the future.
Responsibilities:- Upgrade De-Identification software (written in Perl) using C20
- Integrate De-Identification software algorithms with various machine learning algorithms (including neural networks)
- Developing new data structures, algorithms, and information flow architectures for increased efficiency and effectiveness
- Daily reporting using existing reporting templates (incl. descriptions of what to do and what has been done) by the end of the day
- Presenting the written reports at the beginning of the following day during the daily briefing and discussion (Scrum w/ documentation)
- B.S. in Computer Science
- Demonstrable skills on developing algorithms with advanced data structures
- C (C17 and knowledgeable about C20 specifications)
- Experience using vcpkg with CMake
- Experience using Git
- Python and pandas library
- Developed multithreaded Windows and Linux applications
- Experience on unit, integration, and regression Testing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- NLP, Machine Learning, Tensorflow
- GUI development using QT/QT creator both on Windows and Linux platforms
- Client/Server architecture based application development
- Google Benchmarking on C codes
- Experience in Anaconda
- Experience in EC2 and S3 at the AWS cloud
- Python/C programming using relational database interfaces communicating with MS-SQL, Oracle, or MySQL
- Developed applications and adhered deadlines in a high-pressured research environment
- Developed math-heavy software applications
