Collections Specialist

Description We are seeking a Collections Specialist to join our team in the Financial Services industry based in HUNT VALLEY, Maryland. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity where you will be expected to handle various collection-related tasks. You will be dealing directly with customer credit applications and maintaining accurate records while working in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities: Efficiently process and manage customer credit applications Maintain a detailed and accurate record of customer credit information Monitor customer accounts and conduct necessary follow-ups Handle all administrative duties including filing, processing payments, and preparing files for record retention storage Assign and track repossessions as needed File and monitor insurance claims associated with repossessions Use your skills in the banking industry to ensure smooth operation of collection processes Utilize your knowledge in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Debt Collection to improve efficiency Employ your data entry skills to maintain accurate customer records and process information Handle customer inquiries and provide appropriate solutions. Requirements Possession of a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within the financial services industry Proficiency in Collection Processes and Consumer Collections Excellent data entry skills A firm understanding of the banking industry Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential Proven experience in Debt Collection Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Excellent communication and negotiation skills Proficiency in using financial software and databases High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to handle confidential information responsibly Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities A bachelor's degree in finance, business administration or a related field is preferred.
