Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector's Combat Sensors Engineering team is seeking multiple functional leaders to manage its growing engineering team. Combat Sensors Engineering supports all aspects of a variety of airborne sensor programs including new development, production, and sustainment. The engineering team is comprised of multiple engineering disciplines including Hardware, Software, and Systems.Successful candidates will become part of an engineering leadership team focused on executing the engineering scope and requirements of our programs while also building the engineering team and developing team members' careers. The engineering leadership team partners directly with business leaders sharing in program strategy, execution, and success.These positions are dual role encompassing both people and project/technical leadership.Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Lead an engineering functional group of 10 to 15 engineers including performance management, career development, staffing, and compensation planning

Provide project and technical oversight for activities performed by the group

Ensure application of design processes and guidelines used in the group

Develop proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers

Collaborate with peer managers to ensure consistency across multiple work groups

Support department initiatives, recruiting, cross-campus/sector involvement, and internally funded projects

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 9 years of related engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) or minimum of 7 years of experience with a STEM Master's degree.

Prior experience as project or technical leader.

Solid understanding of either Radar Systems, Embedded Software, or RF and mixed signal product test and troubleshoot.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

US Citizenship required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a high-level security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

10 years of experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment

Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader

Current Secret or Top Secret

Clearance with SAP

Technical experience in Radar Systems Engineering, Embedded Software, or RF and mixed signal product test and troubleshoot including, but not limited to, products in high reliability military applications

There are multiple positions open supporting different engineering disciplines including Hardware, Software, and Systems Engineering. These positions are located in Baltimore, MD. These positions will report to the cognizant Section Lead for each engineering discipline within Combat Sensors Engineering.Preferred Qualifications - RF/Microwave and Mixed Signal Product Test and Troubleshoot :

Production test support experience for RF and mixed signal assemblies

Working knowledge of Cybersecurity/Anti-Tamper Software and Hardware, including implementation, troubleshoot and design

Familiarity with identifying CPI (Critical Program Information) and System interfaces, and how to protect them

Familiarity with Cryptographic Protection

Experience interfacing and working with USG Agencies

Preferred Qualifications - Embedded Software :

Working knowledge of Real Time Embedded Linux or VxWorks based systems

Prior experience with Agile Development Methodologies including JIRA and BitBucket

Prior experience managing projects or technical activities using Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

Preferred Qualifications - Radar Systems Engineering

Strong understanding of the Systems Engineering process and lifecycle

Prior experience with design, analysis and integration and test of advanced multifunction sensor systems, such as EOIR payloads, Fighter and/or Surveillance radar systems, Electronic Warfare (EW), or Mission Systems

The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Clearance prior to starting.Salary Range: $145,000 - $217,400The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
