Description We are seeking a Controller based in Frederick, Maryland. The Controller will be instrumental in maintaining and controlling the company's financial processes and systems in the construction industry. This role involves managing and overseeing all aspects of our company's financial systems including accounting software systems, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger.Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger. Maintain and improve upon accounting software systems to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data. Manage the preparation and publication of periodic financial statements. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and statements. Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports. Coordinate and complete annual audits. Collaborate with financial staff to ensure smooth day-to-day transactions. Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting tasks and reporting. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements. Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.Requirements Construction industry experience Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) processes Expertise in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) Solid understanding of General Ledger accounting principles Proficiency in QuickBooks software Demonstrated ability to manage and oversee financial operations Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements Proven leadership and management skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
