ASRC Communications is seeking a
Data Platform Engineer to support the Defense Information Systems Agency's (DISA) Unified Cyber Situational Awareness (UCSA) program. The ideal candidate will have experience in Information Technology Systems Integration within the Department of Defense (DoD), required documentation skills, and the ability to support the Operation, Maintenance, and deployment of network devices, applications, and supporting software.Our Data Brokering Engineering teams build scalable data pipelines using Python and a mixture of AWS on on-premise data centers. The pipelines we build typically integrate with technologies such as Kafka, NiFi, and Splunk or Elasticsearch. We are working towards a continuous deployment pipeline that leverages rapid on-demand releases. Our developers work in an agile process to efficiently deliver high value data and product packages.As a key member of the Data Brokering team, you will architect and implement both on-premise and cloud-native data pipelines and infrastructure to enable analytics and machine learning on rich datasets.This hybrid role includes remote and in-office as necessary in any of our locations: Columbus, OH; Ft Meade, MD; Pensacola, FL. Periodic travel may be required.Duties and Responsibilities- Assist in delivering the next generation of Defense Information Data Platforms, focused on both cloud and data center environments.
- You know what it takes to build and run resilient data pipelines in production and have experience implementing ETL/ELT to load a multi-terabyte enterprise data warehouse.
- You've worked in agile environments and are comfortable iterating quickly.
- You are familiar with analytics applications using multiple search technologies such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, Databricks.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and five plus years of experience in the data industry.
- Active Secret level security clearance
- DoD 8570 approved certification.
- Experience building on-premise and cloud-native applications and supporting technologies / patterns / practices including: RedHat Linux, AWS, CI/CD, DevSecOps.
- Excellent communication and organization skills with a systematic, problem-solving work style.
- Provide ongoing monitoring and reporting, meeting support, communications and document support, information sharing, and cross-program coordination.
- Support the PMO in scheduling service efforts and aid in effective decision making.
- Ensure that all required documentation is created and maintained for each service including rack elevation diagrams, hardware lists, software lists, and warranty lists. Work closely with the Configuration Manager to ensure that all configuration items required to deliver a particular service are identified, controlled, audited, and reported in the Configuration Management System (CMS). Assist in the implementation of ITIL processes.
