Data Project Manager

DescriptionSAIC is seeking to hire a Data Center Project Manager to support our National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration client, located in Silver Spring, MD. This role requires staff to travel to other data center locations as needed. The selected candidate will be supporting the R&D High Performance Computing and Communications (HPCC) program management group. One must have the ability to provide support with personnel staffing and contracting, program management, resource tracking, goal tracking, and long-term requirements planning for the program.Essential Functions

Managing major system repairs, capital improvement projects, and new building system implementations, project initiations, assisting in the completion and reviewing requirements documents to ensure that the customer’s requirements for power, space, and cooling are met

Acting as the liaison, reporting to and coordinating with U.S. government representatives at multiple levels specifically coordinating data center enhancement projects with OCIO, GSA, and the building tenants

Ensuring contractual conditions of performance are met

Reviewing the work progress on a daily basis and informing R&D HPCS Deputy Director of risks and delays

Preparing internal and external reports pertaining to job status

Planning ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones quickly

Analyzing, managing, and mitigating risks

Developing and reporting metrics to support the paradigm of continuous improvement and meeting reporting needs of customers and team members

Metrics gathering and report generation for facilities management related projects

Providing on-site logistical support for the site and coordinating resources to ensure the facility operates smoothly

Reviewing and managing changes to facility-related security systems

Maintaining building operations policies and procedures, manuals, and plans; keeping plans concurrent and drafting new policies and procedures as necessary

Serving as a customer interface and managing the balance of customer needs and facility operations

Understanding the organizational policies and procedures for accuracy of solutions and deliverables to the client

Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support

QualificationsEducation & Training

Bachelor’s degree

Minimum Experience & Skills

Ten or more or professional experience

Five or more years of experience in Project Management support

Previous experience supporting government contracts

Five or more years of experience managing a data center

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Education/Certifications & Skills

PMP certification

Five or more years of experience with high performance computing

Clearance:

Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
