Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

Security Clearance: Active Clearance or Eligible to Obtain - U.S. citizenship required

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 Depending on Experience and Education

Travel: 5%

Position Summary

SURVICE Engineering is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer to support our Aberdeen Research Operation. You will accelerate your career and become an integral team member within the defense community.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Work with a multidisciplinary team of ARL experimental, theoretical, and computational scientists

Coordinate communication, integration, and automation of data flow pertaining to experimental and computational procedures governing the synthesis, processing, manufacturing, characterization, testing and simulation of materials

Optimize extraction, analysis, and preparation of the aforementioned data

Provide support on expanding and maintaining an existing materials database and develop methods for rapid importing of data into that database

Develop methods for workflow automation

Perform programming of robotic systems and lab automation equipment

Perform AI/ML model training, evaluation, validation, monitoring

Perform software development

Oversee software integration, version control, test and deployment for software developed across the division

Interface with software engineers in academic, industrial and government labs to identify and transition cutting edge tools for use at ARL, and work with outside partners to fill critical gaps in skills and capabilities

Prepare presentations and written documents summarizing efforts

Minimum Qualifications of DevOps Engineer Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Math Concentration and 1+ years of relevant experience. Practical experience in software engineering

Proficient in using Python

Familiar with AI/ML models

Experience in communicating results through reports and presentations.

Experience with Robotics and Mechatronics
