DevOps Engineer

Job DescriptionThe DevOps Engineer will help design and implement infrastructure and configuration for various commercial and custom tools used in the organization in an automated way. In this role, you will interface with stakeholders across various teams to facilitate and help them adopt DevOps best practices and standards. This person will work in administering a variety of productivity software including CI/CD tools, and project management applications using FINRA best practices. This role will work closely with senior members of the team and help deliver strategic solutions and on-going improvements to infrastructure design and provisioning, environment configuration, upgrade and maintenance.

Essential Job Functions:• Administer, customize and enhance the functionality of various developer tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, and Bitbucket.• Review and analyze system metrics and usage data and help improve the availability, performance and security of the tools.• Develop CI/CD pipeline test plan and execute test scripts used in provisioning and maintenance of tools.• Collaborate with lead engineers to implement security requirements towards enabling risk-compliant development process.• Develop build and deploy scripts using tools such as Ansible and CloudFormation.• Develop and enhance monitoring tools to continuously improve stability, scalability, performance and availability of productivity tools infrastructure.• Lead incident triage and resolution process in a timely manner.• Work closely with Supervisor to aid with internal process improvement initiatives.• Evaluate industry trends, standards, and modern technologies to recommend change.• Help with training junior staff in executing daily as well as strategic tasks.• Ensure all work products meet/exceed FINRA standards.• Build, and Disaster Recovery (DR), and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) testing, auditing, and reporting.

Job Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years' experience in either software development oradministration.• At least 2 years of experience building solutions using AWS compute and storage services including EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, and ELB.• Demonstrable experience in administering enterprise tools in Linux/Unix platform.• At least 1 year of experience working with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, or CloudFormation.• Proficient in using any scripting language such as Bash, Python, or Perl.Preferred Skills and Qualifications:• Experienced developing custom solutions in Jira and Confluence to meet business needs.• Prior experience using Jenkins or Gitlab for software development is highly desirable.• Familiar with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Containerd.
