PURPOSE:The Director, Information Technology provides leadership for developing and implementing information technology across the business. Directs the planning and implementation of strategic and tactical IT initiatives focusing on cost-effectiveness, efficiency, customer and user satisfaction, and quality while in a safe, sound and secure environment. Acts as a critical leader and driver of iterative technology innovation, partnering with other leaders to achieve business goals and objectives; this includes providing leadership to an agile, forward-thinking IT team, driving the day-to-day operations and focusing on service and delivery. Identifies new technologies and partnerships to strengthen the company's competitive position while continuing to improve customer and user experiences. Enhancements and new opportunities in digital environments, data analytics, vendor management, and cybersecurity will be critical success factors in the business's short and long-term strategic initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Strategic Direction/Leadership

• Collaborates effectively with other key executive team members in a manner that will enhance product innovation, compliance, growth and contribution to the business segment.• Contributes to business decisions, and to the development of business plans, strategies and policies.• Develops and implements strategies and operational plans that will focus efforts toward successful project implementation and strategic objectives• Initiates business-wide technology application review to support future needs of business processes.• Leads and manages a high-performance team.• Attracts, develops, motivates and retains highly talented individuals on the team and deploys them in a manner that will optimize the achievement of short and long term objectives.

Solution Development

• Accountable to create and ensure the execution of a strategic vision and correlating tactical plan for the business’ technology platforms extending across all users and meeting product, delivery, and business requirements• Overall accountability for ensuring that software development processes are created and maintained in a manner that keeps pace with the industry best practices and standards.• Drives the evaluation of the cost/benefits of systems development projects and has ultimate accountability for the selection and development of software and technology partners

Data & Informatics

• Oversees strategic planning and development of informatics solutions in partnership with product and business leadership.• Provides leadership, vision, and direction for informatics and data systems and services.• Overall accountability for architecture, design, deployment, utilization and enhancement of informatics and data warehousing systems and services.• Ensures that IT is working collaboratively with key process owners to identify opportunities for business intelligence and informatics to processes, healthcare, and clinical service performance.

Operations & Delivery

• Oversees technology operations and platform delivery strategies to align with business and customer requirements.• Ensures a high-quality, consistent user and customer experience with the business’ technology platforms.• Responsible for meeting all operational service level agreements concerning system operations and uptime.

Architecture & Security

• Oversees the architectural strategy, design, and analyses including architectural planning, governance and security, of hardware and software systems.• Ensures that business systems are highly reliable, scalable and flexible to facilitate market agility, and provide stable yet adaptive platforms for responding to ever-changing variables in market conditions, legislative, and/or competitive landscapes in the healthcare industry.• Oversees security strategy and implementation to ensure that business systems are protected and compliant.

Qualifications

Education:Bachelor's Degreein Computer Science-related field or equivalent experience

Experience:10 years in a technology leadership role at a healthcare organization, preferrable a provider, demonstrating success managing technology strategy, planning, and operations across multi-functional teams and with accountability for technology-related performance metrics, reporting, budgeting, and compliance

Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Business Administration or a Computer Science-related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Advanced management skills and demonstrated success in managing IT functions, including computer operations, systems development, voice and data communications, database management, and systems security
  • Experience demonstrating knowledge and understanding of business process redesign, electronic data interchange, data administration, data warehousing, application development and testing processes
  • In depth knowledge of key current and legacy technologies, systems architecture, infrastructure design, and data and informatics. Experience with systems integration
  • Ability to develop operational plans translating corporate IT strategies and goals into realistic action plans focused on meeting customer and client needs. Ability to identify solutions to complex business issues and to integrate disparate business systems
  • Previous financial management, P&L or budget responsibility. The candidate must have previous operations management in a service business that includes implementing new programs, new products/services, and new systems
  • Proven experience effectively managing and participating in a technological partnership with internal and external IT resources
  • Ability to create a strategic vision and to effectively communicate this vision to others
  • Ability to develop operational plans which translate corporate strategies and goals into realistic action plans focused on meeting customer and client needs
  • Ability to identify solutions to complex business issues, to make difficult decisions, to achieve results through others, and to motivate team effort and cooperation
  • Writes and presents effectively; adjusts to fit the audience and the message; strongly gets a message across
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and guide others toward accomplishing goals. Consistently develops and sustains cooperative working relationships.
