PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Primary representative for the Exelon/BGE Supplier Diversity program with internal and external stakeholders such as business unit stakeholders, Supply leadership and key management, legislative and regulatory agencies, and supplier diversity advocacy groups. Provide governance and oversight of a Supplier Diversity Process that reflects Exelon/BGE’s diverse customer base and reflects the communities we serve; while ensuring compliance with Federal legislation; and city and state requirements. This position is located in Baltimore, MD (Lord Baltimore Building). Preferred candidates are MD residents.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support Director in governance, oversight and support for the design and implementation of the Supplier Diversity Program and strategies to increase opportunities at Exelon for diverse suppliers; and to obtain external recognition for company efforts in the community, business, and regulatory arenas. (25%)
  • Supports the coordinates with external organizations to participate in Supplier Diversity networking events and training sessions. (25%)
  • Interacts with Exelon executive management to educate and consult on Exelon's Supplier Diversity Program initiatives and, results and enable strong and effective leadership sponsorship (25%)
  • Ensures compliance with all governmental and regulatory requirements (10%)
  • Supports the development and implementation of standard, accurate, and complete Supplier Diversity metrics that reflect proactive and successful process implementation and effectively communicates results to internal and external stakeholders. (5%)
  • Supports the identification and pursuit of opportunities to establish alliances to develop Diverse Suppliers' skills and increase their business opportunities (10%)
  • Support the BGE’s Emergency Response activities as assigned

JOB SCOPE

  • Provide governance, oversight and supports the Company on activities related to corporate supplier diversity advisory boards, councils, and committees.
  • Represents Exelon's supplier diversity program to supplier advocacy organizations and regulatory and legislative groups.
  • Helps establish corporate-wide strategy for supplier diversity
  • Maintains oversight of approximately $500M in supplier diversity spend.
  • Travel on average 50% across Exelon sites and business units, as business needs dictate

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, science or related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft products, PassPort/PIMS/Oracle, and the eSourcing tool.
  • Excellent communicator, written and oral, with strengths in organization, planning and negotiation skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Use and understand effective change management skills and strategies.
  • Knowledge of commodities, suppliers, market alignments and supply concepts; and corporate and department practices and procedures, contract law, UCC, government regulations, market pricing and risk analysis.
