The Environmental Business Line of AECOM is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Asbestos and Lead Inspector for immediate employment with the EHS Department in the Germantown, MD office. The main responsibility of the successful candidate will be to perform hazardous building materials surveys (asbestos, lead paint, etc.) and prepare the associated survey reports, as well as perform abatement oversight. The candidate will perform the work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member. The position will require that the candidate be available to perform work in both the field and office and be able to travel out-of-town for durations ranging from one week to three months, as needed.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Conduct field studies and collect environmental samples for analysisPerform data analysis and interpret results using statistical methodsPrepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations on environmental findingsUtilize GIS software to create maps and analyze spatial dataAssist in environmental impact assessments and pollution control projectsSupport the creation of environmental management plans and conservation strategiesDesign and execute experiments to assess environmental quality and ecosystem healthDevelop and maintain databases for environmental data management and analysisContribute to the development of standard operating procedures for field and laboratory work
