DescriptionFiscal Accounts Technician II (Grade 12) OPEN RECRUITMENT Position Specific Recruitment This position-specific recruitment is open to anyone who meets the minimum and selective qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligibles will be used to fill this Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) position or function only. The Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) is seeking qualified candidate for the Fiscal Account Technician II position in the office of accounting. This position will research returned checks, create receivables for return checks and other miscellaneous receivable due to the agency and to assist customers with understanding and resolving said receivables. Some of the essential duties of the Fiscal Accounts Technician II include, but are not limited to the following:
Researching and creating return check cases and other miscellaneous receivables.
Resolving issues related to receivable cases via written or e-mail correspondence, telephone, or eFax for internal and external customers in a timely fashion.
Interacting with different departments within MVA such as Accounts Payable, Business Licensing, the Refund Unit and various other departments and outside agencies such as CCU and financial intuitions.
Scanning customer correspondences to attach cases.
Creating miscellaneous receivable cases.
Performing other related duties.
The current vacancy exists at MDOT MVA, Office of Accounting, which is located in Glen Burnie, MD (Anne Arundel County).
This position may allow a hybrid work schedule, including telework and on-site work hours.

QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: One (1) year of experience reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports using accounting software packages or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments. Notes:
Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
