PRN – Non-Benefited Rotating shift - with an every other weekend commitment
Location: Silver Spring, MD
Food Services Department
Reports to Food Service Supervisor, Patient Service Manager, Food Service Director
Responsibilities:
Obtains and processes patient meal order requests from patients, family, nursing staff and other hospital staff.
Assist with the coordination of diet orders and diet order changes with meal preferences, tray assembly, delivery, nourishments, tube feeding and supplements.
Receives requests for diet changes via computer, fax or written format during down time.
Makes necessary changes and updates computer, printout and Room Services order system as needed.
Processes Room Service customer orders, including patient/family initiated orders and those patients requiring assistance.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.
What you will need:
Must have or be pursuing high school diploma or equivalent four years of work-related experience.
Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and courteously via telephone, in person or in writing.
Ability to read, comprehend and write simple and moderately complex instructions, correspondence, and memos in English.
Ability to speak and communicate in Spanish is desired.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions.
Ability to use common sense in carrying out written and oral instructions and solving problems.
Ability to use computer, fax, printer, calculator, hands free telephone, copy machine, voicemail, paging systems, files and other related machines and clerical tools.
Ability to learn, understand and communicate the Carbohydrate Counting and Protein Exchange systems.
