Description Robert Half is partnering with a leading client in the financial services industry located in Harford County, MD, to fill the role of HR Specialist. If you are an experienced human resources professional with a focus on leave management (FMLA and other leave-related matters) and have expertise with HR software platforms like Ultipro, Workday, UKG, and ADP, we want to hear from you!Position Summary:As an HR Specialist, you will play a vital role in managing leave-related processes and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Your experience with employee leaves programs such as FMLA, short-term disability, and other leave policies will contribute significantly to supporting our client's HR initiatives and maintaining a positive employee experience.Responsibilities:

Administer and manage leave-related matters, including FMLA, short-term disability, parental leave, and other company-specific leave policies.

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations regarding leave and absence management.

Liaise with employees, managers, and external vendors to provide guidance and support throughout the leave process.

Maintain and update records in HR systems such as Ultipro, Workday, UKG, and ADP with accuracy and attention to detail.

Monitor leave usage, track intermittent leave, and create reports to analyze trends and provide insights to HR leadership.

Assist with audits and reporting for compliance purposes.

Support other HR functions, such as employee relations, benefits administration, or onboarding, as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of 3–5 years in human resources, with a specific focus on leave management and compliance.

Proficiency in at least one HR software system such as Ultipro, Workday, UKG, or ADP; experience with multiple platforms is highly preferred.

In-depth knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other federal/state leave regulations.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Effective communication skills to provide clear and empathetic support to employees and managers.

Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
