Job Title: Junior Testing SpecialistLocation: Columbia, MDJob Type: Full-time with Sparksoft

Job Summary:This testing specialist will be responsible for planning and conducting a wide range of quality control tasks, including analyzing requirements; test planning and strategy; developing and executing test cases; evaluating and documenting test results; and promoting teamwork and organizational integrity.

Responsibilities:
  • Translate requirements into detailed test plans and test cases
  • Develop and execute manual test cases
  • Create various testing documentation, including Test Cases, Test Scenarios, test metrics, Defect, Test Summary Reports etc.
  • Logs defects and tracks them through closure using JIRA, TestRail.
  • Actively participates as a member of an Agile Scrum team for assigned products/projects;
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Skills:
  • Good Experience in writing SQLs to query the backend during the test execution.
  • Expertise in testing web-based applications and web services-based systems with minimal to no user interface
  • Ability to work in projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience application lifecycle management tools such as TestRail and JIRA.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be an excellent team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Fair knowledge of different phases of test life-cycle.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Software Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of experience with establishing comprehensive test practices and methodologies
