Description The Affordable Housing Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the management and operations of affordable housing programs. This position involves assisting with the application and qualification process, providing customer service to tenants and applicants, and assisting with administrative tasks. The Affordable Housing Assistant works closely with property managers, tenants, and other staff members to ensure efficient and effective program delivery.

Process and review applications for affordable housing programs.

Determine applicant eligibility based on income guidelines and program requirements.

Assist tenants with lease agreements, inquiries, and maintenance requests.

Collaborate with the finance department to calculate rent payments and verify income.

Ensure compliance with affordable housing regulations and reporting requirements.

Conduct outreach activities and participate in community events to promote affordable housing programs.

Maintain accurate records and databases of tenant files, leases, and program-related documentation.

Assist in generating reports and summaries of program activities and outcomes.

Provide general administrative support to the affordable housing team.

Collaborate with colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach in providing affordable housing services.

Requirements

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse clients.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.

Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Knowledge of Affordable Housing and Section 8.
