Our work depends on Systems Administrator Expert joining our team to maintain and upgrade a high performance computing cluster in support of Navy laboratory customers.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:● Education: Bachelor's Computer Science or equivalent experience● Required Experience: 5-10 years of related experience● Required Technical Skills:Provision and manage a high performance computer (HPC) cluster of Linux servers on an enclaved network utilizing OpenHPC components – primarily warewulf system management and slurm workload managerInstall and configure operating systems, firmware, software, and networking on HPC clusters both manually and using automation toolsPerform server hardware maintenance and upgradesTroubleshoot and resolve HPC cluster issues working closely with on-site network administratorsCoordinate with vendors to resolve hardware and software problemsMonitor the health of the Linux servers through both automated and manual processesProvide clear and detailed feedback to stakeholders on gaps and improvement areas, specifically in the areas of simplification, stability, and operational efficiencyContribute to the creation and maintenance of operating proceduresDocument system administration procedures for routine and complex tasksProvide regular and well-communicated updates to stakeholders and usersMentor and assist less-experienced team membersStay up-to-date on the latest HPC technologies and best practices and work with stakeholders and users to implementProvide reliable and efficient backups/restores for all managed systemsProvide 24-hour, 7-day on-call support and off-hours maintenance windowsMaintain software repositories and apply software updatesMaintain documentation for procedures, configurations, and programs● Security Clearance Level: SECRET● Location: NSWCCD West Bethesda, MD, On Customer Site● US Citizenship RequiredGDIT IS YOUR PLACE:● 401K with company match● Comprehensive health and wellness packages● Internal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career● Professional growth opportunities including paid education and certifications● Cutting-edge technology you can learn from● Rest and recharge with paid vacation and holidaysWe are GDIT.
