Locomotive Electrician

Inspect, service and make necessary repairs to passenger railway trains : coaches / railcars and locomotives within OEM/FRA/DOT and company standards

Responsible for troubleshooting, analysis, fault detection and repair of locomotive electrical and train control systems, sub-systems and components.

Perform modifications from drawings, prints or electrical systems on locomotives as assigned.

Perform fault detection and diagnostics through the use of microprocessor and diagnostic equipment.

Install and maintain electrical wiring and equipment such as Programmable Logic Controllers ( PLC ) and various electrical equipment and components.

Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).

Required training will be provided in Baltimore, Maryland upon hire.

Qualifications :

High School diploma/GED + Valid Driver's License

Experience working as an electrician , electrical technician, electro-mechanical technician in an industrial environment or transportation

Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, electric circuit schematics

Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of electrical theory

Ideally experience as a Journeyman Electrician or a Master Electrician

Driving record needs to be absent any moving convictions for alcohol or substance abuse within the previous 36 months

Subject to random testing for drugs and/or alcohol
